Dental marketing blogs topics
Doctors are asking me "what should I write about on my blog?"
Remember that a blog should ping various aggregators of content and search engines. And a blog should be promoted on social media sites like Facebook and Digg. And the blog should have keywords in it that will attract search engine traffic.
So the topics you write about should be interesting to the type of people who you want to attract to your practice.
It seems a daunting task: what dental marketing blogs topics are good to write about? And how to write about them every day?
I've learned over the years of working with maybe 3000 dentists but I really learned when I interviewed patients themselves. So here are my results in a nutshell.
Dental marketing blog content that attracts patients
What I have found is that the biggest question is "will I feel anything? How will it really feel? What will you do to for my comfort?"
It's the same story over and over…the nauseating noise and smell of the handpiece…the feeling of being closed in by sitting in an almost enclosed chair and having lights and people close in, it's needles, it's pain.
Second on the list is trust issues. Do I really need that filling replace? Do I really need that expensive perio therapy? What if I wait on getting that leaky crown replaced?
And #3 are questions relating to cosmetic procedures. For instance, what if you want to remove veneers, do the veneers require removal of healthy tooth tissue and so are they irreversible?
My many years in sales have shown me that the way to handle an objection is to bring it out. Talk about it. Deal with it. That is what I would do on the Internet and on all my advertising. That's why sedation dentistry is such a winner today. It pre-handles the biggest objection that people have, especially people with large cases.
I would put all this front and center on my brochure website. And this is what I would blog about:
How can you trust a dentist when she says you need some work?
What if you hate the sound and smell of the drill?
What if you hate the dentist and avoid coming in until things are out of hand?
Then there are of course topics such as:
- Treating inflamed gums at home so you avoid having to have gum work done
- How can you tell if you are losing bone and what can you do about it?
- What about those invisible braces that you can remove — are they any good?
I could go on and on. Since you won't want to write about these, I am going to do the writing for you. I'm planning on coming out with a blog technology very soon and I will create the blog for you, write to it 20 times per month, and promote it on various social media sites as well as on Google. See Dental blogs and dental blogging for more.
