Dental blogs - progress report

I am a student of Internet marketing. I used to be somewhat of a guru of offline marketing and have written an all-time bestselling book on dental case acceptance and dental marketing (you can get this book free for a limited time — see below.)

But now I mostly market online for dentists. And I have put together a little private launch of my dental blogs. I basically create and run a dental blog for you, with original articles. And I promote it all over the web. And I build and run an email campaign for you for those folks who don't set an appointment but opt in.closeup_girl_with_braces_and_retainer.jpg

So as I learn more here, I am learning how to apply the lessons of Internet marketing to the dental blogs.

There are three sources of traffic to a dental blog. One is search engine traffic, from Google and Yahoo and MSN. The second is social media sites. Sites like Youtube and Myspace and all the others. And the third source of dental patient prospects is pay per click advertising.

Pay per click dental advertising is expensive. And volumes aren't always that great. But it can work very well. See my video about how to do dental advertising on Google if you are interested.

Build backlinks - this is a constant. You have to build good quality backlinks and you also have to have volume. This is where most sites fall down. It is a continuous process. See dental website marketing and backlinks for more about dental marketing on your website using backlinks.

Use social media sites. Get traffic from them. And also get backlinks from them. There are a lot of those sites, maybe a few hundred. And many are very worthwhile. See dental marketing with blogs for more.

Dental website marketing lessons

One thing that I'm learning is how to get the traffic to convert better. I am going to put together some videos that patients will see and that will incentivize them to join your mailing list and seek treatment.

I have found some new studies that are revealing how to boost conversion rates and I've tested the video idea and it's working well on other sites that I run. It's working great.

Also, building an email list — I was using double opt in but now I am switching to single opt in. One thing I've found is that using single opt in is a better way to go. I know of nobody that has gotten into trouble in something like dentistry with single opt in. It's entirely legal and in compliance with the US CAN SPAM regulations. And it's ethical. Every email from me includes unsubscribe information and all of that, and it is very easy for people to leave my lists. I never share names or emails with anyone, ever.

Point is, I am going to make these very successful for you. They will be blowing away any type of static website because they are always updating and generating new backlinks and traffic. There is no way that a static website will be able to compete in terms of being found and gathering a good quality email list.

I hope you will come to my site, read about the blogs and join my list if you haven't already. I'm mailing interesting articles about once every 3 to 5 days and if that's too often, don't join. But I think you will be pleased with the high quality of information on dental marketing that you will learn.
