Dental Marketing: How to multiply your website's results
If you want to build up your results from the web, there is one major thing you can do. Let me explain.
First, remember that you will get most results via search engines, and that means today mostly Google with some Yahoo and MSN/Windows Live thrown in. But Google is your chief focus because it is so dominant.
That means that you must pay attention to what Google likes to see. And Google likes to see changing content. New content.
Here's why. Google sends its spiders out to look at your website. If the spiders see the same content again and again, they quit visiting your site very often.
A site that changes very fast may have visits from Google's spiders every few hours. A site that doesn't change very often at all may only get spider visits once in a blue moon.
Meanwhile, the web isn't standing still. Your competitors are continually developing new websites. And those sites are visited by Google's spiders and if their content is better than yours, they may move up in the search engine rankings and you may fall down.
Contrast this to a website with constantly changing content. New content. Now when the spiders visit, they see something new. They say "aha! This site is worth visiting more frequently." And they start coming around all the time.
As they come around each time, they add more and more of these new pages to the Google index. So those pages become available when people search.
So that is why changing your content and adding new content is so critlcal.
There are two ways you can add content. One way is to just add more to your website. The other way is to have a blog. A blog is designed to be updated frequently. A blog also has a built in ability to notify the search engines when it has been updated. This is known as pinging.
With a blog, you can update your website frequently by making new blog posts. The blog software can ping the search engines. And you will end up with an increasing amount of traffic via the search engines.
Dental marketing is the process of increasing your flow of quality new patients. And that means increasing the number of good patients who find you via the search engines.
